1 c Cornmeal 1 c Flour 3 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt 1 Egg 1 c Milk 1/4 c Salad oil or melted crisco Mix to-gether flour,cornmeal,baking powder and salt.Beat egg;add milk and oil or shortening.Add to dry ingredients,stirring just enough to moisten.Pour into greased 8 inch square pan and bake in 400 oven 30 min.
