Onions Almondine

         Yield: 6 Servings

1/2 c Butter 1/2 c Blanched; slivered almonds 1 tb Dark brown sugar 2 Cloves garlic; pressed 1/2 ts Salt 1/4 ts Pepper 1/4 c Dry white wine or sherry 4 sm Dozen white onions; fresh or -canned Melt butter. Stir in almonds and brown sugar. Add pressed garlic, seasonings and wine. Add onions and stir until well coated. Cover and bake at 350? for 1 hour, stirring or shaking pan occasionally to coat onions. Yield: 6 to 8 servings. NANCY MITCHAM (MRS. ROBERT)
