Plain Muffins

2 c Flour 4 tb Sugar 3 tb Melted shortening 1 c Milk 3 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt 1 Egg, well beaten Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder and salt. Combine egg, shortening, milk, and sugar. Add dry ingredients. Beat only until smooth. Fill well-oiled muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake in hot oven (425? F) 15-20 minutes. 10 servings.
