Apple Roll

6	tb	Shortening (lard)
		Milk, enough to form biscuit batter,
		Roll thin, cover with sliced tart
		Apples, roll lke jelly roll and slice
		Into a tin (good sized baking dish) put:
2	c	Maple syrup
2	c	Hot water
1	tb	Butter
